The Root River and other water venues took center stage this weekend during the Racine River Fest. Sponsored by the Racine County Convention and Visitors Bureau and others, the festival took place Saturday at multiple sites, with an emphasis on the river and lakefront. The all-day event included cardboard boat races, a 5K run, pancake breakfast, art fair and fireworks.
