BOLAND – Bowen J., 7 months, passed peacefully into the arms of angels Sunday April 9, 2023. Born August 31, 2022, the son of Corey and Rebecca (Yokitis) Boland. Preceded in death by maternal and paternal great-grandparents, and uncle Kevin Yokitis. Survived by parents; sister and brother, Blakley and Brooks; paternal grandparents, Karen Boland and Phil Boland; maternal grandparents, Leo and Marian Yokitis; uncles and aunts, Brian (Danita) Yokitis, Ryan Boland (Serene Thayer), and Kaylyn (Adam) Riner; and cousins, Jeannie, Nate & Josh Yokitis, Jazmine Boland, and Nora, Finn & Jack Riner. Bowen loved his whole family, especially his mommy. He enjoyed being pushed in the stroller by brother Brooks, looking out the window to watch cars with sister Blakley, and going for car rides. Bowen had the biggest smile and the softest hair. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 13 at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Brian Warchola and Fr. Steve Boland, celebrants. Mr. Boland was predeceased by parents, Harold and Ann (Hall) Boland; his wife of 58 years, Alice (Jaros) Boland; two sisters, Shonnie Lozzi, Kathleen Kersat. He is survived by his beloved children, Jolie (Scott) Potter, Judi (Steve Brown) Crotsley, James (Sandy) Boland, Jr., Jana (George) Bowen, Jill (Skip) Hornick, Jon (Amy) Boland, all of the Owego area; grandchildren, Kyle, Evan and Eric McDonald, Caleb and Coltyn Crotsley, Robert Hall, Lisa Wakeman, Shawn Crotsley, Tyler and Kirsten Boland, Charlsie and Malley Bowen, Madison, Javan, Braelyn Hornick, Wylie, Oriah and Atlas Boland; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary (Nicholas) Holobosky, Judith DeSantis; several nieces, nephews , cousins and his dear friend, Betsy Snyder. Jim graduated from Owego Free Academy. He was employed with the Owego Police Department, A & P Foods, and IBM. Jim was very proud to be a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. Jim and Alice enjoyed their “winter home” in Naples, FL, where they were surrounded by their extended Crystal Lake Family and friends. Jim loved to drive his red Miata convertible, spending quality time with his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St., Owego. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
